Town of Carrot River Coping With Water Main Repairs – UPDATED

The Town of Carrot River staff started working on locating and resolving a problem with their water main, early on Tuesday morning. 

Water Main Break update: February 22, 2018, 5:30 PM – Crews have completed the line repair on 2nd Street West, Residents in that area should have permanent water service now. As with any disruption in service or pressure fluctuation, we recommend running water for a bit to flush any discolouration or fowl smells.

Boil water advisory for those residents notified in writing at their door on Tuesday is still in effect. Those residents will be notified in writing at their door when it is lifted.

Water Main Break Update – February 21, 2018 2:41 pm: For those residents on 2nd Street West affected by the water main break that occurred in the wee hours of February 19.
Crews expect to be able to repair the line Thursday February 22. We will be turning water on for your use tonight from 5:30 to 6:15 pm and Thursday morning from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.

According to a the town’s Facebook page, the water main problem affects approximately 20 residences on 2nd Street West between Elm Avenue and 1st Avenue. The water was turned on temporarily for residents’ use this morning and it will be shut off by 9 am.

They indicated they will turn it on again at 5:30 pm and shut off at 6 pm this evening for residents to store water over night. The town will turn it on again Wednesday morning from 8:00 am to 8:30 am and anticipate the line to be repaired sometime Wednesday morning.

Those residences affected will be notified, in writing, regarding service disruption or advisories in effect.
