Star City Meat Processor Fined $11,500 For Trafficking Wild Meat

A Star City man recently pleaded guilty in Melfort provincial court to five charges under the federal Migratory Birds Convention Act. An undercover investigation which started in 2014 found that a meat shop in Star City was illegally selling wild goose meat. I have to admit that I am really enjoying writing these columns. As I travel around with my son for hockey and people actually recognize me from my mug shot in the local papers. I am happy to talk about what conservation officers do for a living and some of the rules we enforce.
