Starting on Monday, April 13th, 2020, additional work on the Nipawin Bridge on Highway 55 will commence.

Nipawin Bridge Update – Aug 21, 2019 – Asphalt work

Update August 23rd, 2019 – The switch from using the current lane for live traffic is anticipated to happen by this Saturday. A spokesperson** for the bridge contractor says there will be few quick traffic stops during this switch. However, they intend to keep the traffic stops to less than 20 minutes. Once the change of live lanes is complete, drivers will have the smooth, newly paved eastbound lane to use and work will continue on the westbound lanes.

The concrete pour scheduled for this evening on the Nipawin bridge has been postponed until tomorrow evening, Tuesday, July 9th 2019, weather permitting.

Nipawin, SK; Friday May 17th – Work on the Nipawin bridge on Highway 55 will be suspended for the May long weekend.

Monday April 15th, 2019 and Tuesday April 16th, 2019, travelers can expect further delays as crews will need to close both lanes periodically, for about 15 minutes at a time.

Nipawin Bridge Repairs Resume

Repair work on the Nipawin Bridge on Highway 55 north of Nipawin has resumed and, as of April 3rd, 2019, single lane traffic and traffic lights are in effect. The bridge speed is now 30 km/h

Traffic Restrictions Resuming on Nipawin Bridge April 1

Beginning on Monday April 1st, 2019 at 7:00 am until Friday April 5th, 2019, the bridge will be down to a single lane, with traffic alternating in the open lane between.
