On March 1st, 2018 Saskatchewan Party candidate, Todd Goudy, won the provincial by-election for Melfort MLA. Todd cornered 78.5% of the vote with 3,270 votes. Lorne Schroeder (NDP) came second with 809 votes and Shawn Setyo followed up with 77 votes.

Sask Party candidates in Kindersly and Swift Current also dominated with Ken Francis winning 88.1% with 3,339 votes in Kindersly and Everett Hindley winning the Swift Current seat by securing 3,776 votes, giving him 73.4% of the total votes.

*Kindersley – A total of 55 ballot boxes are reported during Preliminary Count, comprised of 44 for regular polls, 7 for advance polls and 4 for mobile polls. No homebound voting applications were received, therefore there is no homebound poll. 2 additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) will be added to the Final Count on March 13, for a total of 57 ballot boxes.
Melfort – A total of 58 ballot boxes are reported during Preliminary Count, comprised of 48 for regular polls, 4 for advance polls, 5 for mobile polls, and 1 for a homebound poll. Two additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) will be added to the Final Count on March 13, for a total of 60 ballot boxes.
Swift Current – A total of 52 ballot boxes are reported during Preliminary Count, comprised of 43 for regular polls, 3 for advance polls, 5 for mobile polls, and 1 for a homebound poll. Two additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) will be added to the Final Count on March 13, for a total of 54 ballot boxes.
