Shortly before 4:00 a.m. October 27, a Rosthern Detachment member noted a black car pulled over on the side of Highway #11 near Osler, SK with no lights on. The member pulled their vehicle over and activated their emergency equipment. Initial investigation is that a thin, black male exited the car and then the RCMP member was shot at. The individual got back inside and the vehicle fled towards Saskatoon. This resulted in the member discharging their firearm and the car fled towards Saskatoon on Highway #11. The member was not injured.
A short pursuit began and Saskatoon Police Service was notified. The vehicle has not been located yet and we continue to work with Saskatoon Police Service in this investigation.
The car is described as a black Cadillac CTS with no license plate.
The one occupant that was observed is described as a thin, black male. No further descriptions are available at this time.
The public should not approach vehicles matching the description above and report any information they have to police immediately. The public may note an increased police presence on Highway #11 while further investigation takes place.
