The new Reeve, two new councilors and the existing 4 council members of the RM of Torch River would like to express their gratitude to Torch River ratepayers for their participation and support in the recent by-election on January 17th, 2018.
“We want to thank all of the ratepayers that came out to vote” new elected Reeve, Jerry Kindrat, told Nipawin News on behalf of the whole council, “We will do the best we can to do what is best for the ratepayers“. His message from the council was that the high ratepayer participation in the recent by-election was greatly appreciated. An excellent voter turn out shows the council that the ratepayers care about how their municipality is governed.
Looking forward, Reeve Kindrat assured Nipawin News that major issues will be on their agenda such as road maintenance, resurfacing and upgrades, as well as bridges. Work is already underway in planning for the RM’s future and addressing needs both current and in the long term.
In addition to Reeve Kindrat, the Rural Municipality of Torch River welcomes two new councilors, Richard Pickett for Division 5 and Ken Runn in Division 4.
