Update – Additional information

Nipawin, Saskatchewan – November 4, 2020 – Further to the Town of Nipawin Information Release of November 3rd regarding the emergency manhole repair at the intersection of 6th Street East and Shults Road, we wish to inform the public that this work is required in order to replace the existing manhole at this intersection.

This manhole has deteriorated, and it is now collapsing. Because this manhole extends approximately 18 feet underground, the excavation will be rather large. It is anticipated that this replacement will take approximately 10 days to complete, however we also anticipate that coming weather may delay this timeframe.

During this replacement, the traffic detour will remain in effect. In order to ensure public safety, construction fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the excavation.

All traffic is asked to avoid this area unless necessary as large equipment will be operating at the site for the duration of the work.

In addition to ensuring the safety of the workers and the equipment, public safety is our greatest concern.

Your cooperation in keeping your distance from this location is greatly appreciated.
