Nipawin Non-Profit Club Offers Weight Loss Support

(Last Updated On: October 3, 2017)

These days there are so many options for those seeking to lose weight. Nipawin and area residents have a non-profit organization that is there to help and support them on their journey.

Nipawin’s TOPS meets every Thursday at the Nipawin Regional Library and offers support, group discussions and weekly incentives for those whose goal is to lose weight. Members pay a small membership fee though prospective members are welcome to attend their first meeting at no cost to allow them to check it out and see if it is right for them. Everyone is welcome to join, no pressure, just friendship, and support.

Nipawin TOPS will be holding an Open House on Thursday, October 5th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, anyone wishing to learn more about TOPS is welcome to attend.

Founded in 1948, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit organization that has been helping and supporting their members to take off, and keep off, pounds sensibly for nearly 70 years. Weekly meetings include private weigh-ins and professionally prepared, informational chapter programs, featuring up-to-date information on nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyles. Programs provide positive reinforcement and motivation to adhere to food and exercise programs.

TOPS does not sell foods, endorse products, or push a one-size fits all meal plan. They encourage you to choose foods you enjoy, in moderation, on the TOPS meal plan. The flexible guidelines help you control calories while eating real food that you make at home or order in a restaurant.
