The Nipawin Business Improvement District held the Christmas Tree Raising ceremony and events the evening of Thursday November 30th, 2017 at the Town Square in Downtown Nipawin. Turning on the Christmas lights, Mayor Rennie Harper joined Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves to celebrate the annual launch of the Christmas season in Nipawin.
“Nipawin Bid Committee having a very successful Tree Raising Ceremony in Nipawin town square, last night. Almost 150 kids were in town square to light the tree with Mayor Harper and Santa Claus.” Nipawin BID director, Norm Rudock told Nipawin News in a statement, “The town square is decorated and ready for the Christmas Season.”
Families enjoyed the children’s choir, as they sipped on hot chocolate and waited for their turn to have their pictures taken with Santa.
The Christmas Tree raising was organized by The Nipawin Business Improvement District (Nipawin BID) and sponsored by The Town of Nipawin, Nipawin Fire Department, Diamond North Credit Union and Nipawin Daycare.
