Nipawin Hospital Front Office Staff Temporary Relocation to Continue

Saskatchewan Health Authority Public Service Announcement June 14th, 2019– Nipawin Hospital front office access; Members of the public will have noticed front office access at Nipawin Hospital has been at an alternate location for several weeks.

These staff have been temporarily relocated while investigative work has been undertaken to determine the cause of symptoms that some were experiencing while working in the front office area.

Investigations to date have determined the issue is contained to the front office space and there is no cause for concern among patients, visitors or staff that do not work in that area. Air quality testing has been conducted throughout the investigative process and has determined the symptoms are not the result of hazardous gas, fungi, spores or mold.

Although the investigation has taken longer than expected, the priority is to have staff return to their space and work symptom-free. With this in mind, Building Services will continue collaboration with various experts and trades as they work to ensure a safe, healthy environment for staff to return to. Until that time, front office staff will remain relocated in temporary spaces throughout the hospital.

We understand the relocation of the front office may be inconvenient for some patients, clients, and visitor and we are hopeful we can soon return to business as usual.
