Nipawin Fire Department Respond to Two Fires Friday

Structure Fire – May 31, 2019 at 10:26 am

Nipawin Fire Department responded to a structure fire in town. Upon arrival, the east side of the exterior of the house was engulfed in flames.

A bystander and the firefighters noticed that there was a dog trapped inside the house. Entrance was gained through the side door and the dog was rescued.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the east side of the house. SaskPower disconnected power, and SaskEnergy shut off the supply of gas to the house.

No injuries were sustained in the blaze. The fire is under investigation. Thank you to our partners Nipawin RCMP, North East EMS, SaskPower and SaskEnergy.

Vehicle Fire – May 31, 2019 – 4:40 pm

Nipawin Fire responded to a report of a vehicle fire in town. Upon arriving, firefighters discovered that the fire started in the engine compartment and had moved into the cab of the half-ton.

Firefighters used foam to extinguish the fire. No injuries were sustained. Thank you to our partners Nipawin RCMP, North East EMS and Northern Towing.
