Nipawin Bridge Construction Update April 12th, 2019
With work progressing well on the rehabilitation of the Nipawin bridge on Highway 55 north of Nipawin, the contractors would like to express their appreciation to the area residents, and others traveling through the construction zone, and thank them for their patience.
As work proceeds, travelers will notice that it is getting busier on the bridge with workers very close to traffic, sometimes even in the active lane. For the safety of the workers, and yourself, travelers are reminded to keep their speed at the posted 30 km/h limit as you cross the bridge.
Traffic Light Wait Times Will Vary
Daytime travelers will notice the traffic light delays will be slightly longer but those traveling after the bridge crews work ours can expect those delays to return to the previously set time limits.
Heavy Truck Traffic Anticipated Soon
In the coming weeks, the bridge work will see more construction activity with heavy truck traffic. Travelers continued patience is appreciated throughout the project and particularly at times when the construction zone is congested.
Special Note For Farmers
Any farmers with loads that may exceed the 3.5 metre width limit for crossing the bridge can contact the construction supervisor on site to see if their load can be accommodated and arrange a time to get through the construction zone.
