(Last Updated On: March 21, 2020)

March 21, 20202 – PRINCE ALBERT – Randy Hoback, Member of Parliament for Prince Albert, has self-isolated after being advised that David Beasley, Executive Director of the World Food Programme, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Hoback took part in a meeting with Mr. Beasley on Wednesday, March 11th in Ottawa.

Following the onset of a sore throat, Mr. Hoback contacted the Prince Albert Health Office, who then instructed him to be tested for COVID-19. Mr. Hoback has been told to expect his test results on Tuesday, March 24th. Until then, he will continue to self-isolate with his wife Jerri until health officials say otherwise.

Together, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 by making a conscious effort to keep a physical distance between each other. Social distancing is proven to be one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of illness during an outbreak. With patience and cooperation, we can all do our part.

This means making changes in your everyday routines to minimize close contact with others, including:
• avoiding non-essential gatherings; avoiding common greetings, such as handshakes;
• avoiding crowded places such as concerts, arenas, conferences and festivals
• limiting contact with people at higher risk like older adults and those in poor health;
• keeping a distance of at least 2 arms-length (approximately 2 metres) from others.
