Robbery in Love Interrupted by Brave Citizens.
On Monday, July 31st, 2017, Nipawin RCMP responded to a call of a robbery in progress at S&L Service in Love, SK, and that concerned citizens had witnessed a break and enter and had stepped up to detain the suspects until police arrived.
One man and two women were apprehended while a second man escaped.
The four people, two of which the RCMP say were local residents, had arrived at the property in a vehicle stolen from the Lumsden, SK area.
One escaped on foot and RCMP launched a ground search for him, calling in a canine unit to aid in their efforts.
The three that were apprehended are currently facing charges, the fourth suspect is still at large.
Although they can’t confirm it, Staff Sgt Wauters, of the Nipawin RCMP detachment, indicated they suspect a red 2007 Toyota Camry that was discovered stolen the next morning from a business in White Fox may be related to the case.
Staff Sgt Wauters commended the community members for taking steps to detain the suspects until police arrived, saying, “They did a really good job“
