Kelsey Trail Health Region welcomes new regional locum physician

Kelsey Trail Health Region is pleased to announce the arrival of a new regional locum physician to help serve the residents of the Kelsey Trail Health Region. A locum physician is a physician who works in the place of a regular physician when that physician is absent.

Dr. Kevin Sawchuk will be providing physician locum services out of local clinics throughout the region effective November 15th, 2017.

Dr. Sawchuk is originally from Powell River, British Columbia. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his Family Medicine post-graduate training in La Ronge, SK and completed his Family Medicine Emergency Medicine residency training in Halifax, NS.

“We are very pleased Dr. Sawchuk is joining Kelsey Trail Health Region in the capacity of regional locum physician. His presence will help physicians throughout the region address work-life balance and his expertise and experience will benefit the patients he sees,” stated KTHR CEO Shane Merriman.
