23 year old Jordan Darchuk of Prince Albert has been confirmed by the Office of the Saskatchewan Coroner as the man fatally injured in the hunting incident near Weirdale on September 16, 2017.
According to the Coventry Funeral Services website, the celebration of life for Jordan will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at the Art Hauser Centre Arena, 690 32 St. E, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jordan’s honor to Sask Tip, Box 114, Meath Park, Saskatchewan S0J1T0.

On Saturday, September 16, 2017 shortly after 8:00 p.m. Nipawin RCMP responded to a complaint of an injured male located in a rural field 10 kilometers south of Weirdale, SK.
Initial investigation has revealed two males (a 23-year-old male and 22-year-old male, both from Prince Albert) were hunting separately and apart from each other in the same area around 7:30 p.m. The two males were not known to each other. A firearm was discharged and the 23-year-old male from Prince Albert was located deceased with an apparent gunshot wound.
The incident was reported to police by the 22-year-old male, who remained at the scene.
The death is not considered suspicious at this time. The RCMP will not be releasing the name of the deceased. RCMP do not have further information to release at this time. All aspects of this incident are currently being investigated by Smeaton and Nipawin RCMP – this includes awaiting the results of an autopsy that will be completed this week in Saskatoon.
