While several Wildlife Management Zones surrounding Nipawin open Friday, September 15th for Draw and Regular Elk, however, some zones won’t be open for the cow Elk draw until October 15, 2017.
For the Draw Elk (Limited to Saskatchewan residents only) Wildlife Management Zones including 39, 40, 41, 42E, 42W, 43, 44, 45W, 46, 52 and 54 among others, will be open for archery, muzzleloader, crossbow, shotgun, and rifle from Sept. 15 – Sept. 30 and Dec. 10 – Dec. 19 for one elk, either sex.
Draw Elk for the Fort à la Corne Wildlife Management Unit (Designate WMZ FLC) already opened for archery, muzzleloader, crossbow, shotgun, and rifle on September 1st, 2017 and runs until September 30th then reopens on December 10th until December 19th for one elk, either sex.
Wildlife Management Zone 50, among others, won’t open for the Draw Elk until Sunday, October 15 until Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 for archery, muzzleloader, crossbow, shotgun and rifle and hunters are limited to one antlerless elk.
