UPDATE – CLARIFICATION

In a communication from Madeleen Albertyn, she clarified that Dr. Albertyn will not be leaving Nipawin. “He is indeed closing his family practice to give him some time to focus on a diploma in dermatology. He will most likely continue his surgical practice in Nipawin.”

In a letter dated November 8th, 2017, Nipawin physician Dr Albert Albertyn MD announced the closure of his family practice, effective February 28th, 2018.

I am writing this with mixed emotions. I am announcing the closure of my Nipawin practice effective February 28th, 2018. This has not been an easy decision for me to make. Caring for my patients has been a great source of satisfaction and pleasure these past few years, but a career opportunity is taking me in a different direction.” Dr Albertyn wrote in his letter, “I have valued my relationship with you, my patients, more than I can express in words. I thank you for the many years of loyalty and friendship.

In his letter, Dr Albertyn urged his patients to contact a new provider as soon as possible, informing them of physicians who where accepting patients at the Nipawin Medi-Clinic;  Dr. Eke, Dr. Ritter and Nurse Practitioner, Pat Olson. Dr Albertyn assured his patients their medical records would be available through the former Kelsey Trail Health Region electronic medical records.
