Spotlight on Nipawin, 30 Businesses – 30 Days

Since opening in September of 2017, WestSide Casuals has strived to bring great brands to our customers. Opened by June and Tom Schultz (Harold’s Footwear, Apparel and Sporting Goods), WestSide is an extension of Harold’s providing the same great customer service along with many new brands to fit all of your needs. WestSide Casuals has come to have some great socially conscious brands that are so important in our world today.

Brand Highlights from Westside Casuals

Originating in Regina, Saskatchewan Tentree is a clothing company with t-shirts, hoodies, pants and so much more. At Tentree, their goal is to become the most environmentally progressive brand on the planet. They don’t want to just reduce the negative impact of the apparel industry; they want to use it as a vehicle for change. Their purpose is to revitalize our environment and inspire a generation to believe that they can do the same. 10 trees are planted for every purchase made from Tentree. OluKai began as a unique approach; they wanted to create footwear that combined durability for the waterman-ocean lifestyle, and a brand that had strong values and roots with style, comfort, and craftsmanship. OluKai shoes are Polynesian and island-inspired. Founded in 2014, the Ama OluKai Foundation is a private, non-profit located in the State of Hawaii. The Foundation partners with other committed and progressive organizations interested in the preservation of Hawaiian culture, and honors those who cultivate cultural heritage and the Aloha spirit of Hawaii. In correlation with other Hawaiian based organizations, The Foundation works to preserve land and ocean, serve our communities, and maintain the Hawaiian culture and traditions. This is conducted through targeted programs designed to explore ancestral past to present day. The Foundation provides encouragement to those who benefit from its partnerships to carry forward the spirit of giving for future generations. While traveling in Argentina in 2006, TOMS Founder Blake Mycoskie witnessed the hardships faced by children growing up without shoes. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a new pair of shoes for a child in need. One for One®. What began as a simple idea has evolved into a powerful business model that helps address need and advance health, education and economic opportunity for children and their communities around the world. We are very proud to be able to have these kinds of brands in our store. As much as we find it so important to support our community, we also know it is as important to support our country and our world.
