Several Municipalities are accepting nomination for Councillors for their upcoming elections. 

Town of Carrot River – Nominations NOW CLOSED

Deadlines: during regular business hours on September 5, 2O18 to September 17, 2O18 and on the 18th day of September, 2018, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Town of Carrot River Office
Nomination forms may be obtained at the following location(s): Town of Carrot River Office or lnternet at www.carrotriver.ca

Election date for Carrot River only; 
An election, if necessary, will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018.


Rural Municipality of Torch River #488- Nominations close Wednesday, September 19th, 2018

(3) Councillors for; Division 2, Division 4 & Division 6

Deadline; Wednesday September 19th, 2018 at 4 pm (local time)

Election Date;  Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Nominations close Wednesday, September 19th, 2018

Deadline for Nominations; Wednesday, September 19th 2018 (nominations must be submitted before 4 pm on the 19th).

Election Date;  Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Election Date;  Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Nomination forms available for pick up at the municipal office


General elections for each office are held every four years. Rural municipalities hold an election for selected divisions every two years; however, each council members holds office for a four-year term.

Upcoming municipal election dates are:

Wednesday, October 24, 2018 – to elect Councillors representing even-numbered divisions in rural municipalities;

Saturday, July 25, 2020 to elect mayor and Councillors in resort villages;
Fall of 2020 to elect mayor and councillors for northern municipalities (contact your municipal office for exact date)

Wednesday, October 28, 2020 – to elect mayor and Councillors in urban municipalities (cities, towns, villages) and to elect reeves and Councillors representing odd-number divisions in rural municipalities.

Residents may also vote in a municipal by-election to choose a new council member to fill a vacated office.
