The old Nipawin bridge will be closed on Monday, April 16th 2018, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, for repairs.
Driver’s using the bridge in the meantime are advised to use extra caution due to deep potholes on the bridge surface. Be advised that the current rough surface has drastically slowed travel across the bridge.
The lights controlling the one way traffic are synchronized for the regular rate of travel time and many crossing the bridge require more time. If the light turns green for your direction of traffic, be aware that other vehicles may still be navigating the potholes.
Also use caution as the thaw begins to contribute to standing water on the bridge and at the approaches. Standing water can reduce traction and mask hazards such as broken pavement and gravel covered areas.
