This weekend Nipawin and surrounding communities prove there is plenty of things to do. Who will be able to say they took all the events in?
9:30 am – 4:30 pm Beginner Team Penning/Sorting Clinic Southern Cross Arena, Carrot River, SK, Carrot River, SK Saskatchewan
You can start your day early and head out to Southern Cross Arena and learn about the popular sports of Team Penning & Sorting. Team penning is a timed event with a team of three riders must sort out three specific cows from a herd and move them away from the herd and into a small pen. The catch is the rest of the herd cannot follow. Because cows are herd animals, that is not as easy as it sounds. Did I mention, they only have 90 seconds to do it?
10:00 am – 4:30 pm North East SPCA Trade Show Generations Event Centre, Nipawin SK

11:00 am – 4:00 pm Giant Bake Sale Fundraiser in Carrot River For Jeff Haydukewich at the Carrot River Community Square
Didn’t get enough baked goodies? No problem, the wonderful people of Carrot River have you covered! Head on over to the Carrot River Community Square and load up on more at their Bake Sale! Do wait til the last minute though, the sale may end early if the goodies sell out!
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Art and Culture Day – White Fox White Fox Community Centre, White Fox SK
With your belly full, it’s time to relax and take in all the arts and culture over in White Fox at the Community Hall. Enjoy all the displays, sip some tea or coffee, and watch the ethnic dancers. Don’t forget to go across the road and take a look at the massive collection on display at The White Fox Museum!
Supper’s Ready! You have two choices for supper, you can keep heading west and drive up to the Love Gospel Jamboree Grounds and enjoy their pig roast or head on back to Nipawin and pop into the Legion for their weekly Saturday Supper.
