Submitted by Linda Swehla February 18, 2020 – Some of you may have already heard, or have seen the RE/MAX Nipawin office closed, with no listings in the window and the Remax sign down – well I have decided to take the next step in life. To Retire!
Being in Real Estate since 2002 makes this a very hard step. Helping the community and surrounding areas sell and buy homes/businesses has brought me great joy. The importance of this time in everyone’s life has always been respected and all listings treated the same.
I have worked with hundreds of people and have listed/sold over 1000 properties. Many a few times over. I have had the privilege to be a member of the Nipawin Business Community for 19+ years. The respect and loyalty from everyone is appreciated. Trusting me to help so many of you; you to share that time with me. I thank all of you for your support over the years.
Starting RE/MAX Nipawin was a huge undertaking, but I had the courage because I had you all behind me. You kept me passionate in something I enjoyed and had a niche for.
I am looking forward to retirement after being in the workforce for over 55 years. It is time. The end of a business/career is a big deal. The opportunities to work with the community will be missed – having a part on boards, example the Chamber of Commerce, Business Improvement Development, Economic Development Committee, the Health Foundation, plus! And having the ability to sponsor so many groups/events over the years has been a pleasure. To be able to share with the community has been something I am proud of. All will be missed.
But I also want to say that I am so very fortunate to have such great staff over the years. Many have been part of this team. All have kept me on track, shared their expertise with me and only wanted my office and me to succeed. Thank you for that.
I especially want to express my sincere appreciation to Jaimie Peterson. We have worked together for over 15 years! She will always be valued and remembered. Her hard work, commitment and dedication are greatly admired and appreciated. She made my life easier as a Broker/Realtor/Business owner. I knew I could depend on her, always. Having her as an Office Manager was a great privilege. She played a huge integral part in my office, my life.
I will miss “All”. Now I will have the time for me, family and friends. Doing things for us/me! I know it will be a challenge to not have the phone ringing constantly or checking emails every five minutes. My husband Dave will not miss this! We are looking forward to this big word “Retirement” and plan on making the best of it!
Too bad we can’t have a big party. Hope to see you around!
