Edwin Whitehead couldn’t sleep after playing his SCRATCH ’N WIN lottery ticket. He just couldn’t believe he had uncovered a $200,000 win. The Red Earth First Nation resident won on LUCKY LINES EXTRAVAGANZA.
Whitehead bought his $7 instant ticket from Par-A-Mart Foods, located at 600 Nipawin Road E. in Nipawin. He scratched it the same evening before he went to bed.
On the ticket’s fifth play area, Whitehead uncovered all five symbols in a diagonal line. And he was shocked to see the prize that went along with that line: the game’s $200,000 top prize!
“I must have checked it 10 more times,” he remembered. “I couldn’t sleep; I couldn’t believe it.”
Whitehead went back to the store the next day to have the clerk check the ticket. That confirmed his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him.
“I was so excited,” he said.
The winner said he’ll take some time to think before making any plans for his windfall.
