Shortly after 10:00 am on Friday August 3rd, 2018. Potentially millions of people around the world faced about 10 minutes of sheer terror as Facebook went down.
Just as users began to cope with their denial, checking their internet connections and restarting their phones, Facebook came back online, saving many from the frightful realization that they may have to look up from their phones and step away from their computers.
No details have been released as of yet and the web site appears to be back up and running.
A similar outage was reported just 2 days ago with a world wide sporadic outage that last hours for some users. In addition to that, many app users, particularly those using Android phones, have been recently experiencing difficulties logging on and using Facebook. Reports of apps crashing and Facebook downtime for hours at a time have been tracked by down time websites Canadianoutages.com and Outage.report

Facebook is down, so I decided to go outside. When did summer get here? I must have lost track of time. I met some people who say they are my family. They seem very nice. #facebookdown

Facebook is down. There are reports that people are actually going outside and talking to each other but this is still to be confirmed. #facebookdown
