Saskatchewan Introducing Mandatory Minimum Training Requirements For Commercial Semi Drivers

New Requirements Effective March 15, 2019

Saskatchewan Government Insurance; released on December 3, 2018 –Starting March 15, 2019, drivers seeking a Class 1 commercial licence in Saskatchewan to drive semi trucks will be required to undergo a minimum of 121.5 hours of training.

Winter Weights To Take Effect In Most Of Saskatchewan


Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure – released on November 30, 2018

Winter Weights Begin Early Monday, December 3rd, 2018

During the cold winter months, secondary highways will be allowed to carry primary highway weights.  This will be in effect at 12:01 a.m., Monday, December 3 for all applicable provincial highways, with the exception of southern Saskatchewan which will come into effect when weather permits.

Winter Weight Season Postponed

Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure Released on November 15, 2018 – Each year, the amount of weight that trucks can haul increases during the winter months.  The winter weight period typically begins November 16 however, the 2018 start date is being delayed due to weather and road structure conditions.

Drilling of First Bulk Sample Hole at Star-Orion South Diamond Project Commences

SASKATOON, Oct. 5, 2018 /CNW/ – George H. Read, P. Geo., Senior Vice President Exploration and Development of Star Diamond Corporation (“Star Diamond” or the “Corporation”) is pleased to announce that Rio Tinto Exploration Canada (“RTEC”) have commenced the drilling of the first bulk sample hole on the Star Kimberlite using the Trench Cutter Sampling Rig, which consists of a Bauer BC 50 Cutter mounted on a Bauer MC 128 Duty-cycle Crane.
