The first of the 2018 fire bans have begun with a notice from the Rural Municipality of Nipawin.

Cumberland House Fire Largest Active Fire in 2018 at 182 Hectares (Updated)

The 2018 wildland fire season is well under way with 90 fires to date as of May 7th, 2018. The largest active fire is a 50 hectare fire burning approximately 8 km south east of Cumberland House, Saskatchewan. At 90 fires to date, the season is starting quickly compared to the 5 year average of 51 fires.

UPDATE: 18HB-TEARING Fire, Cumberland House – As of 2:50 pm Monday May 7th, 2018 is reported to be 182 hectares and still not contained.
