Since the beginning of January this year, a total of 72 fraudulent bills have been turned into Police, in the denominations of $5, $20, $50 and $100. The transparent strip on the fraudulent bills have all been altered. Some bills include the transparent strip from a real $5 denomination.

The small numbers printed within the large transparent strip on a legitimate bank note will match the denomination of the bill.

Police are advising the public and businesses to check to make sure bank notes in their possession are legitimate.

Anyone with information on this is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
