Fire in Hudson Bay Destroys Three Businesses

Social media was buzzing last night when a devastating fire destroyed a commercial building in the town of Hudson Bay that was home to Hudson Bay Tattoo, Timeless Treasures, and The Cutting Edge. The lone resident of an apartment in the building was able to escape to safety.

In a Facebook post the owner of Hudson Bay Tattoo, informed his customers ,”Well, not the best day for Hudson Bay Tattoo and the community as a whole today. Our building was taken from us by fire this evening. Although this is a terrible tragedy Timeless Treasures, The Cutting Edge and Hudson Bay Tattoo, we are grateful that Anne made it safely from her apartment and no one else was in the building. Customers with appointments will be contacted to make other arrangements in the very near future. We will be back in business ASAP.”

According to a Facebook post from the Hudson Bay Chamber of CommerceThe Hudson Bay business sector is devastated by a terrible fire which has burnt a downtown business building, our heart goes out to all involved in the lose of their businesses this evening.”

The fire is reported to have started shortly after 9 pm and witnesses stated the Hudson Bay Fire Department had the fire under control before midnight.

UPDATE: January 9th, 8:30 am – Hudson Bay RCMP release Hudson Bay: Structure Fire, no injuries reported to police;

Last night after 10:00 p.m. Hudson Bay RCMP responded to a structure fire on the 100 block of Churchill Street in Hudson Bay. The structure contained three businesses and an attached residence.

The lone occupant of the residence was not inside at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported to RCMP.

Examination and investigation of the scene will be completed once the fire is fully extinguished by fire officials from the Ministry of Government Relations along with members of the RCMP.
